Tuscany is one of the largest and most important Italian regions for the historical, artistic, economic, and cultural landscape. Tuscany is universally known for its great wealth of monuments and works of art known around the world are the cities of Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca, and less known but not for this least to the centers mentioned above as a monumental wealth centers are Arezzo, Grosseto, Pistoia and Prato, finally, practically all new tourism-albeit characterized by fine monuments are the city of Livorno, Massa and Carrara.
Not less important are the many small towns, some of them real well preserved historic towns, guardians of works of art of inestimable value as:
Cortona: testimonies of the Etruscan, medieval monuments, Renaissance and Baroque.
Lucignano: medieval village still completely surrounded by walls, medieval and Renaissance monuments.
Sansepolcro: monuments of medieval period.
Castiglion Fiorentino: medieval village and adjoining walls, evidence of the Etruscan period.
Poppi: Castle of the Counts Guidi.
